You will fall in 'Love Today' with MIKA!

Last night's Hell Ya! was amazing. Thanks to everyone that was there!

I'm leaving for london tomorrow - so I thought in the spirit of things I would post something from my favorite new London Import. His name is MIKA - and I predict he is going to be a huge star very soon. Mika sounds like a combo of Queen, Elton John, Rufus Wainwright, and a dash of Scissor Sisters! What's not to like! And he's the cutest thing ever - dances as he plays the piano and sings.

Here is a live performance of his song "Grace Kelly" live on Jools Holland:

Here's another Mika track - my personal favorite:

HELL YA! Tonight with Los Abandoned!!

I think this is the busiest I have ever been . . . going to London with JG on Saturday - but TONIGHT is HELL YA! @ The ECHO!

Hell Ya! nights just keep getting better and better! Imarobot show was insane - and tonight will be no different!

Here is the Lineup:

9pm - CASTLEDOOR

Since I sent out the Hell Ya! email - I've been getting alot of the same responses back. Everyone is like - "who is Castledoor? I love them! why do I not know about them?"
So yeah, this is why I do HELL YA! nights. To expose people to new bands! Big thanks to Kami for this band - I heard them on her podcast and immediatly emailed the band and asked them to play.

Castledoor "Burn The Maps"

10pm - LOS ABANDONED

I am so thrilled that Los Abandoned is playing tonight! I have loved this band since I worked at KROQ years ago. I would always be playing "stalk you" for everyone in the office - and eventually gave it to Rodney who started playing it on his show. Flash forward to today - the band has played live on CONAN O BRIEN! They are a staple on the Indie 1031 playlist - and I predict they will be a household name very soon. Lady P is like a combo of Gwen Stefani and Karen O. She is a superstar!

Los Abandoned "Stalk U"

11:30pm - THE SILENT YEARS

The Silent Years have come all the way from Detroit and I can't wait to see their set. Don't believe me? Here's what the tripwire says about them:
"This band of good looking, young Motor City kids had great energy, great songs, and seemed to be having the time of their lives. That performance completely won me over and I spent the rest of my time in Austin telling as many people as possible about The Silent Years. Since SXSW, the band has inked a deal with a small Twin Cities, MN-based indie label called No Alternative Records and recorded their debut full-length album. They're now gearing up for the release of their self-titled debut (October 24) and plotting a supporting fall tour that will take them clear across the country, including dates in NYC, Chicago, and LA."
